    Dot Allison

12inch / Substance b-w Lo-Fi Love Song & Substance (Felix Da Housecat mix) / Mantra Records

Dot Allison has re-engineered herself to make a splash in the electroclash world causing such a stir this Summer. She has cropped her hair and made friends with the electronic beat.

    Beachbuggy

    CD5 / Kickin' Back EP / Poptones

Four new songs (plus Kickin' Back from their Sport Fury album) which continue along in the Fall-meets-Pixies vein quite competently.

    Brazilian Beats 3

CD / various / Mr. Bongo

This compilation has a bit of everything for everybody, and to my ears only has 4 bad songs (tracks 5,6,10 and 11) - the rest are real keepers or just very interesting to hear on a compilation.

    Chris Korda

12inch / When It Rains EP / International DeeJay Gigolo Records

Tech-house styled electro with a true jazzy element thrown in overtop with a funky edge.

    Mama Guitar

CD / In Mama Guitar Style / Füenfundvierzig

A rockin' mix of Beat/British Invasion and US Girl Group (ala Shangri-las) and teen pop with a dollop of Mod thrown in for good measure. At times they sound like the Detroit Cobras with the R&B knob turned down.

    Mum & Dad

CD5 / Kiss Of Death EP / Twisted Nerve

Mum & Dad have the best elements of Canada's Pest 5000, Boston's The Phenomenological Boys, and (believe it or not) mid-70's Hawkwind. I really love this band.
