Patrick Adams

title:: The Master of the Masterpiece - The Very Best of Patrick Adams
label:: P&P Records

Amazingly this 2 cd compilation is the first dedicated to the expansive musical catalog of Patrick Adams, a behinds the scenes producer, arranger, and songwriter you may not have heard of if you don't bother reading the credits on album covers.

And even more amazing, it barely scrapes the surface, but it still includes much music even Patrick Adams' fans may not have heard yet.

A Life Less Lived - The Gothic Box

various artists
label:: Rhino Records

A three CD, one DVD, collection of Goth nuggets. Rhino has complied another attempt at chronicling a musical style. They create a difficult task with any catalog of style.

Rhino has not packaged this set in its usual shoe box. This collection is tied up in a black leatherette bustier with  laces and eyelets  up the back. It is more funny than deep. It is cheesy and lite. It is Hot Topic at the mall.

Ike and Tina Turner

title:: Nutbush City Limits / Feel Good
label:: Raven Records

Working together since 1960, Ike & Tina Turner signed with Liberty/United Artists in 1970, recording a series of hit worthy rock'n'roll covers including The Beatles' Come Together, Sly & the Family Stone's I Want to Take You Higher, and Creedence Clearwater Revival's Proud Mary.

The Australian Raven label has reissued the last two Ike & Tina albums that followed up these hits on one disc, Feel Good (1972) and Nutbush City Limits (1973) with bonus tracks.
