Transparent Pink wax with an oversized color label mark Veronica Lipgloss and The Evil Eyes as an art band. A look at the photo shows that they must be fun live, putting on visual shows like Suran Song In Stag or Tracy and the Plastics.
Musically, Strip Mall Glass sounds like 45 Grave, with a touch of Bauhaus and electroclash (the synth). The vocals sound like a female version of Perry Farrell in Jane's Addiction. But 45 Grave remains the closest comparison. 45 Grave were an 80s LA band fronted by Dinah Cancer.
JJ Sax is instrumental with a lot of sax for 4/4 of the song, with vocals at the end. The vocals remind me a little of Pineal Ventana, my favorite band ever from Atlanta GA.
Veronica Lipgloss and The Evil Eyes sound somewhat similar to another band recently reviewed in the gullbuy, CDOASS, except the production on this 12inch is a much less polished than the Swedish CDOASS.
