God Made Me Hardcore is the London label that recently released the Moon Unit 7inch with Whip It (Devo cover) and Drop The Bomb.
The sleeve of The Droyds single features a sexy girl painted by Alice Coren, as the Moon Unit 7inch did. This is the first single the label put out.
The Droyds are a duo consisting of Andy Chatterley and Richard Norris, with some female vocals by Casey. Before forming The Droyds, Richard had been in The Grid with Soft Cell's Dave Ball, and Andy ran Trance label Sperm Records. Together they have done remixes for Ladytron ('17inch) and Linda Lamb (remixing Siobhan Fahey's version of Linda Lamb's 'Hot Room').
On this single they recorded electroclash versions of the Squeeze song Take Me I'm Yours and the Duran Duran track Girls On Film. Girls On Film was altered to become Girls On Pills.
Neither track is anything too profound or wonderful, but each are fun and as good as you might wish, especially if you know the originals. According to their message board they have recorded a version of The Charlatan's 'North Country Boy', but it has not been pressed.
I like the Duran Duran cover best of the two.
