Containing two extended remixes of Montreal based DJ Tiga and Zyntherius' (F-Comm's Jori Hulkkonen) insanely addictive electro version of Corey Hart's 80s hit Sunglasses At Night.
a1: Sunglasses at Night Medicine 8 remix A-side remix utilizes Felix Da Housecat's Silver Screen Shower Scene, turning this version into a 7 minute dance floor pounder, as it hits hard with only the chorus from the original, over and over compounded with stops and starts throughout helping to build the tension up for the entire mix. This definitely will not win any awards, but this song is so addictive I'm sure most of us won't care. Of note, at the 6 and a half minute mark the bass disappears, leaving just the drum track, perfectly suiting this track to some dj mixing.
b1: Blue Sunglasses Tom Middleton Cosmos Re-edit The b-side remix utilizes New Order's Blue Monday, this mix has a more subtle electro approach, as it slowly enters our life. I for one have never sickened of the many different mixes and uses that Blue Monday has to offer and still believe it is one of the most crucial songs (keeping in mind all of the time as overplayed as it has been). It takes a full 2 and half minutes for the chorus vocals to kick in. It isn't until the 3 and half minute mark that we get a hint of the original verse vocal, and at that only a hint. Just before the 4 and a half minute mark, the rhythm starts to get funked up with the Blue Monday bass drum, eventually more of that song becomes apparent, and it is the melodic electronics and static effects, distorted chorus vocal from Sunglasses doubling up and the full version of Blue Monday getting modulated into the stratosphere which sends this track. Everything is timed perfectly in this 8 and half minute mix, and while it may not be everyone's cup of tea due to the over exposure of Blue Monday, I found this mix to be my favorite of the two mixes.
